Each year, the directors of the Georgia Trustees Wine Challenge choose a crew of judges, including some returning judges. All judges are vetted for their wine knowledge and background, and many are professionally certified, with some working toward their Master Sommelier designation from the Court of Master Sommeliers. Some have undergone judges’ training with the American Wine Society.
As the Challenge grows and matures, the directors will continue to search for judges who exhibit an understanding of the East Coast and Southern wine profiles. Meads and ciders will continue to be a part of the Challenge each year.
The Directors would like to take this opportunity to thank this year’s (and past years’) judges for their contributions and participation, as well as the volunteers, including students, whose essential efforts in the back room assembling the flights make this event possible.
